Join authors from 20under40: Reinventing Arts and Arts Education for the 21st Century and local arts leaders for a dynamic interactive workshop on the future of the arts sector. 

This year's publication of 20under40 has kicked off a bold new dialogue concerning the future of the arts and arts education that is sure to shift the landscape.  Featuring 20 essays written by arts leaders under the age of 40, 20UNDER40 highlights 20 innovative visions for the evolution and survival of the arts in the 21st century.  

20under40 authors Rebecca Novick (Crowded Fire Theater Company founder and Bay Area-based director), Shannon Preto  (Artistic Director of Dance/Theater Shannon and San Francisco Bay Area-based choreographer), and Elizabeth Lamb (University of Oregon in Portland White Box Coordinator and freelance culture maker) want to hear what you think about the future of the arts (yes, even if you're over 40!).  Come to Intersection's new 5M space in downtown San Francisco on March 1st or Theatre On San Pedro Square in San Jose on March 2nd to get connected with the conversation.  Hear why Rebecca titled her chapter "Please Don't Start a Theater Company!,” learn more about Shannon’s vision for choreography that reverberates in the body, and get inspired by Elizabeth's recipe for getting more people participating in the arts.  Provoked by the book chapters, this workshop will give you a chance to discuss the field's thorniest issues and lay out the changes you'd like to see happen as we invite you to a "party in the future."
